"It felt like quite a responsibility to bring the world of Toad and his friends to a new audience. We worked with good scripts and an excellent cast (led by Adrian Edmondson as Toad) - strong characters that you can believe in and root for, with pathos and comedy. We wanted that same evocative 'earthy and real' aspect to the music and Gareth delighted us with his use of 'real' physical instrumentation.

His direction of Adrian and the cast for the singing episodes (including an opera one) was hilariously brilliant. Harmonies nailed, hairs on the back of yer neck raised, the cast all loved it. Gareth's comic timing is spot on and he's good fun to work with too, the schedule was intense, but we built a good relationship and I looked forward to the feedback sessions, where we often made each other crack up with the ideas we came up with. Plussing it all the way!
