music for tv & film

My music has been used in TV programming around the world. From kids' TV, documentaries, reality shows, drama and advertising; there's something for all genres.

Here are just a few of the places my music has been used:

kids

Toad & Friends

52x11' (Hoho Entertainment / Wildchild Animation / Warner Bros. Discovery) Cartoonito

The CG animated series spins new riverside adventures for book characters Mole, Ratty and Toad, focusing on the value of community, friendship and respect.

Scream Street

52x11' (Coolabi / Factory / ZDF)
CBBC / ABC / Discovery Kids / NRK / Yle TV2

Scream Street - where surfer-dude zombies, sarcastic vampires, martial arts mummies and glamorous witches put a whole new spin on community spirit.

Everybody Loves A Moose

52x7' (Trion Productions / Hoho Entertainment)
RAI / TG4 / Gloob

Everybody Loves A Moose is a 52 x 7’ fast-paced, anarchic slapstick comedy series that takes up back to the golden age of cartoon capers.

Scream Street Bites

5x1' (Coolabi / Factory / ZDF / CBBC)
Web exclusive

These wonderful Laurel and Hardy-esque comedy shorts were created from ideas submitted by students from universities across the North of England. It was a great opportunity to develop the musical themes of these characters and show off their unique personalities.

What Shall We Do With The Angry Monster?

4'15 (Ragdoll / Disney)
Part of the Hope Works initiative

I worked with Ragdoll Productions and Disney to compose the soundtrack for this delightful short. Focusing on kindness, tolerance and understanding, the film is aimed at children aged four to 12 and is supported on the Hope Works website with additional resources and activities for parents and teachers.

Gareth’s comic timing is spot on and he’s good fun to work with too. The schedule was intense, but we built a good relationship and I looked forward to the feedback sessions, where we often made each other crack up with the ideas we came up with. 52 brilliantly scored 11 minute episodes in the can. I hope to work with Gareth again in the future, in the meantime, I recommend him to you!
— Tim Searle, Wild Child Animation
Gareth’s contribution to Scream Street was invaluable and each piece of music that he composed enhanced the show as a whole. You could always rely on Gareth to get the general tone of each episode absolutely spot on and I would happily work with him again in the future.
— Aubrey Clarke, CBBC
Gareth has risen admirably to the challenge of providing music for our animated series ‘Everybody Loves a Moose’. He quickly mastered the brief, providing music samples that pleased all the co-production partners, no mean feat in itself, and has since tirelessly worked to meet tight deadlines. I would recommend him unconditionally.
— Oliver Ellis, Hoho Entertainment
