"Gareth is an imaginative and creative composer, he has a wonderful range from urban contemporary to full orchestral and the quality of the instrumentation is sound. He can score to augment, punctuate or carry the action. You can rely on Gareth to surprise and excite you with his musical brilliance. On top of all this he’s a lovely person and great to work with."
SCREAM STREET BITES
5x1' (Coolabi / Factory / ZDF / CBBC)
These wonderful Laurel and Hardy-esque comedy shorts were created from ideas submitted by students from universities across the North of England. It was a great opportunity to develop the musical themes of these characters and show off their unique personalities.
WHAT SHALL WE DO WITH THE ANGRY MONSTER?
4'15 (Ragdoll / Disney)
Part of the Hope Works initiative
Gareth worked with Ragdoll Productions and Disney to compose the soundtrack for this delightful short. Focusing on kindness, tolerance and understanding, the film is aimed at children aged four to 12 and is supported on the Hope Works website with additional resources and activities for parents and teachers.
"Gareth has risen admirably to the challenge of providing music for our animated series ‘Everybody Loves a Moose’. He quickly mastered the brief, providing music samples that pleased all the co-production partners, no mean feat in itself, and has since tirelessly worked to meet tight deadlines. I would recommend him unconditionally."

A bit about Gareth...
With Grade 8 on both the 'cello and piano, Gareth spent a lot of time playing with orchestras and vocal / instrumental groups growing up. After graduating from Kingston University in 1994 with a degree in Music Technology, he spent the next decade playing in rock bands around the London circuit. After a spell (six years to be precise) of being a primary school teacher, he took the leap in 2011 and became a professional composer.
Gareth has written soundtracks for commissioned animated series for TV, and music for use in ads and programming around the world. When he's not in the studio he can be found recording hi-res real world sounds to add to his growing collection for use in TV and audio productions, or walking Flash Gordon (his jack russell terrier).
